The Malaysian contingent have surpassed the 50-gold medal mark on the final day of the 8th Para Asean Games in Singapore – courtesy of two more golds from athletics.
Muhd Hafiz Abu Bakar emerged victorious in the men’s discus F35/36/37 for gold No. 51 before Muhd Nurdin Ibrahim clinched gold No. 52 in the men’s 1,500m T20 in record-breaking style.
Nurdin set a sizzling pace to cross the finish line in 4:25.83, wiping out compatriot Rafiq Nasyreen’s previous Games record of 4:40.10 by almost 15 seconds!
