IAAF notifies Kipsang of missed test | The Japan Times.

Kenya’s former world marathon record-holder Wilson Kipsang has been notified of a missed doping test by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), Athletics Kenya (AK) said on Tuesday.

The notification followed the failure by Kipsang, the 2012 Olympic medalist and New York marathon champion to appear for an out-of-competition test in Kenya on Nov. 11.

However, AK said Kipsang explained the reasons for his failure to submit to the test and the IAAF “was satisfied that all criteria under the IAAF Anti-Doping regulations were met, and subsequently it has been determined that a Missed Test should be recorded against Mr. Kipsang, in accordance with IAAF rule 35.18.”
