INCHEON, Oct 21 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Asian Para Games contingent is close to meeting the target of nine gold medals achieved in the same Games in Guangzhou four years ago, when they accumulated seven gold medals in four days of competition.
Today, the athletics squad delivered three gold medals.
They were in the men’s T36 200m , T20 long jump and women’s T20 400m.
National Sports Council paralympic branch director Mohd Safrushahar Yusoff said he was expecting more gold medals from the national contingent.
“According to our target, we will collect two more gold medals, one through athletics and one in sailing tomorrow.
“The paralympic athletes are very committed when in action for the country. Once they set the target, they will do their best. This is their edge,” he told Bernama here Tuesday.
Malaysia now have seven gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze medals
